  1.     Add Remote File Distribution Job
  2.  
  3.     This window allows you to define a new file distribution job. The
  4.     Add Remote File Distribution Job window will appear.
  5.  
  6.     Fields
  7.  
  8.     This window contains the following fields:
  9.  
  10.     Job name
  11.  
  12.     Use this field to assign a name to the remote file distribution job.
  13.  
  14.     Description
  15.  
  16.     Use this field to give a brief description of the job. This is used
  17.     along with the name to help identify jobs in the status logs.
  18.  
  19.  
  20.     Install to Hosts
  21.  
  22.     You can use this field to limit which hosts will be accessed during
  23.     the job. Leave a blank space between host names for multiple
  24.     entries. You can also click on the arrow button to the right to pop
  25.     up a pick list of all hosts in the current pool with the selected
  26.     O/S type(s) and make your selection(s) from there.
  27.  
  28.     Target Directory
  29.  
  30.     Use this field to specify the name of the directory where the files
  31.     should be copied.
  32.  
  33.     Windows style paths may also be entered, e.g. c:\users\charlie.
  34.     However, this path will be converted to //c/users/charlie on any
  35.     UNIX platform that is in the current hostnames selection field or
  36.     in the current pool. This can be changed by entering two paths.
  37.     The following examples show valid entries:
  38.  
  39.             c:\users\charlie|/home/charlie
  40.             /home/charlie|c:\users\charlie
  41.             /home/charlie|\users\charlie
  42.  
  43.     The symbol '|' is the pathname delimiter. Only one can occur in the
  44.     field. Each individual pathname must not contain both '/' and '\'. 
  45.     A zero length pathname is an error condtion.

  47.  
  48.     Min. Disk
  49.  
  50.     You can use this field to define the minimum amount of free disk
  51.     space the partition containing the target directory must have before
  52.     this remote file distribution job will execute. You can specify the
  53.     units in bytes or Kbytes.

  55.     Pre-Install Script
  56.  
  57.     You can use this field to specify any scripts or programs which
  58.     should be executed on the destination hosts before transferring the
  59.     files. Enter the full pathname to the script and, optionally, an
  60.     input data file name. Multiple scripts should be separated by
  61.     semi-colons. This is not supported on NT.

  63.     Directory
  64.  
  65.     You can use this field to specify the directory where the
  66.     Pre-Install Script will be put and then run.
  67.  
  68.     Post-Install Script
  69.  
  70.     You can use this field to specify any scripts or programs which
  71.     should be executed on the destination hosts after the files are
  72.     transferred. Enter the full pathname to the script and, optionally,
  73.     an input data file name. Multiple scripts should be separated by
  74.     semi-colons. This is not supported on NT.

  76.     Directory
  77.  
  78.     You can use this field to specify the directory where the
  79.     Post-Install Script will be put and then run.

  82.     Source Directory
  83.  
  84.     You can use this field to specify the directory where this job will
  85.     be started on the local host.

  87.     Number of Retries
  88.  
  89.     Use this field to choose how many times a remote copy to a given
  90.     host should be attempted before the copy operation fails. This can
  91.     be 0 (the default) through 5 times.
  92.  
  93.     Rollback on
  94.  
  95.     You can use this toggle to select if the copied files should be
  96.     removed (or not) from the receiving hosts when an error occurs
  97.     during the remote copy process. The choices are to remove the copied
  98.     files from:
  99.  
  100.     + Ignore Errors (the default; no copied files are removed)
  101.     + Failed Hosts Only (remove copies from failed hosts only)
  102.     + All Hosts (if one host fails, remove copies from all hosts)
  103.  
  104.     Overwrite Files
  105.  
  106.     Use this toggle to specify if existing files in the destination
  107.     directory should be overwritten by the new files being copied AND if
  108.     new directories should be created as needed during the distribution
  109.     job. The default is Yes.
  110.  
  111.     Use Relay Host
  112.  
  113.     Use this toggle to specify if this distribution of files should be
  114.     broadcast to any Relay Hosts for distribution to hosts on other
  115.     sub-nets. The default is No.
  116.  
  117.     If you set this to Yes, you should also specify the Broadcast Relay
  118.     Hosts in the Session Preferences window. See "CONFIGURE" on page 2-1
  119.     for more details.

  121.     Distribution Files
  122.  
  123.     This field is an editable scrolled list. You can click in this list
  124.     once to activate it and then type in the full pathname of the files
  125.     you want to be copied to other hosts.

  128.     Time of RFD Job
  129.  
  130.     You can use this field, along with the Schedule Type field, to
  131.     schedule when a file distribution should be executed. See "TIME
  132.     FORMATS" on page C-1 for details on specifying this value.

  134.     Schedule Type
  135.  
  136.     Use this toggle to specify how and when the file distribution will
  137.     occur. The choices are:
  138.  
  139.     + Weekly When you click on this option, the days of the week will be
  140.       displayed. Select the days of the week the file distribution should
  141.       occur. The Time of RFD job field should contain the time of day the
  142.       file distribution will occur.
  143.  
  144.     + Manual This is the default setting. You can run this type of job
  145.       by clicking on the Execute Now button.
  146.  
  147.     + Monthly When you click on this option, the days of the month will
  148.       be displayed. Select the days of the month the file distribution
  149.       should occur. The Time of RFD job field should contain the time of
  150.       day the file distribution will occur.
  151.  
  152.     + One time Use this option to specify in the Time of RFD job field a
  153.       one-time date and time to run the file distribution. See "TIME
  154.       FORMATS" on page C-1 for details on specifying this value.

  156.     Buttons
  157.  
  158.     This window contains the following buttons:

  160.     Apply
  161.  
  162.     Click on this button to create the file distribution process.
  163.  
  164.     If you didn't enter the Target Directory and Distribution Files
  165.     information, Enlighten will prompt you to supply the missing
  166.     information. If any of the Distribution Files do not exist,
  167.     Enlighten will popup an error box informing you which files could
  168.     not be found and the remote distribution will stop. Otherwise, a
  169.     status window will popup to show the progress of the remote file
  170.     distribution.

  172.     Clear Fields
  173.  
  174.     Click on this button to clear the existing choices in all fields.
  175.  
  176.     Execute Now
  177.  
  178.     Click on this button to execute the file distribution job
  179.     immediately without having to save it or schedule it.

  181.     Close
  182.  
  183.     Click on this button to discard any changes and close the window.
